Pierre Antoine Beaudriau dit Labonté – A Canadian in the American Revolution

Soldier in the service of United States in General Moses Hazen's Regiment during the American Revolution.
- Recruited in Quebec (Lower Canada) by Colonel Moses Hazen for his regiment for the purpose of invading Canada.
- With the regiment when it retreated to Champlain, NY in 1776 when the british landed heavy reinforcements in Canada. From there he moved southward to Crown Point, Ticonderoga & Albany NY. Brought his family from Canada to live in the first refugee camp established there.
- Pierre took part in 1776 in the raid of Staten Island and Battleds of Brandywine and Germantown, PA. He was part of the preparatios for the second invasion of Canada (not undertaken).
- In 1779, he helped build road along the Connecticut River to St.John's on the Richelieu River in Canada (not completed).
- He fought in 1780 in Westchester County, NY when his regiment mergebwith Colonel Livingstone's other Congress-recruited regiment.
- Fought in 1781 at Yorktown, then guarded prisoners of war at Lancaster, PA. Also marched to Albany and Mohawk Valley. Went to West Point and northern New Jersey to threaten British on Staten Island.
- Pierre was in the regiment when it disbanded at White Plains, NY. His family had settled in the second refugee camp at Fishkill, NY but were in Stillwater, near Albanyin 1784 and 1785 where drawing provisions while waiting for land grants in the Canadian & Nova Scotia Refugee tracts.
- Probably died circa 1787 in NY.

On September 21, 1804 his children sold his NY land grants to Jonathan Schuffelin of NYC.
